The travel study program starts in Vienna Austria. To get there, I took American Airlines from Chicago to Dusseldorf, Germany, and then I’m taking Air Berlin from Dusseldorf to Vienna. Booked the flight through StudentUniverse. Will report on how good this site is once I arrive at my destination. So far, so good. Here’s a “do” and “do-not” list for you future travelers:
I’m also making a recap video for Germanic Studies program, so camera gear is essential. Pictured is the gear I took with me. If you’re interested in the gear.
*Just a note though, this gear is not as expensive as it might sound. The camera body used is about $150 now, and most of those lenses are under $150. So getting good pictures and video of your travel experience can definitely be done on a budget. |
Welcome to the blog. If you have found yourself here, I suspect you are most likely a parent, prospective travel study student, or a friend trying to see what Naren is up to this summer and why he’s never in town.
Nevertheless, I hope for this blog to be largely informational, guiding you through my experiences on this program on a day-by-day basis. Spoiler alert: I’m not a blogger by any means, and I have never kept a diary or really done anything of the nature, so pardon me for an unorthodox blog writing format. I just hope for you to get a little taste of the UCLA Germanic Studies Travel Study experience. |
